A few months ago I launched my personal website. Launched is probably not the word I should use here since the site is so simple - I put up my personal site is more like it.
Initially I wanted to launch the site using Notion as my CMS (content management system) because I wanted a site with a simple layout that I could easily update on the go. But I got overwhelmed with some of the Notion hosts and their templates. So I went with what I know - WordPress.
I had all these dreams to add helpful marketing content to the website. But being on WordPress limited me from doing so since I had to get on the computer to make edits to the site because of the theme I was using.
So I planned to dedicate one of my days off to look into a new Notion host and move the website.
Not only did I find a great Notion website host, the host was super easy to use and cost effective.
And it only took me 30 minutes to move the site. I'm being conservative on the time estimate. I'm pretty sure it was less than that.
Here's how I did it:
Keep in mind that if you don't know Notion, don't have content, and haven't ever had a website there is a learning curve. But I think you can figure it out in a few hours. It's definitely not as hard to learn as WordPress.

How to launch your personal website using Notion + Popsy in a few hours

  • You'll need to create a free Notion account if you don't already have one.
  • Select the Popsy template you'd like to use and click on get this template. Do not close this page.
  • On the top right of the template page, click Duplicate and select your Notion workspace.
  • Click Share on the top right of your duplicated page. Click on the tab Share to web and copy the URL that comes up.
  • Return to the Popsy template page you selected and paste the URL in the designated area, then click Create site.
  • Create an account with Popsy.
  • Give your site a name, select the kind of site you're launching, watch the videos that pop up, and click Done. Click Save once you're taken to the template page.
  • Now you see your content as it would look to someone on the web. To edit your content, you'll need to go back to your Notion page.
  • Once your content is where you want it to be, go back to your Popsy dashboard and click Publish on your site.
  • You can either enter a name to use a free Popsy site extension (like or enter your domain name. If you don't have an existing domain name, you can click on We can buy it for you to get Popsy to get your domain name for you for an additional cost.
  • That's it!
Adding new pages or updating existing pages is easy in Notion. You can do it from any device. And you don't have to worry about running Wordpress updates or things like that.
I totally recommend Notion + Popsy as a solution for anyone looking to launch a simple website.
This is NOT a sponsored post. I just had an awesome experience with this service and as a marketer with a specialty in web design, I think it's a great solution for people who want a simple website.
